Levi Porter is a Korean American cinematographer born and raised in South Louisiana. He began tinkering with cameras at the age of 14, filming parkour and skate videos with the neighborhood kids. In college, he dove deep into the techniques of motion picture and photographic film. He has an affinity for intentional camera movement and a fascination with making story-motivated shooting format and lighting choices, independent of and sometimes contrary to current trends.

Levi believes in authentically telling southern stories, helping to provide opportunities to local filmmakers, and fostering a positive on-set experience for all. For him, nothing beats bringing a vision to life through moving images, alongside friends.

He graduated from UL Lafayette with a degree in Moving Image Arts in 2019. Since, he has shot projects around the U.S. from the West Coast to upstate New York, as well as across the globe, even as far reaching as mainland China.

He has experience in a broad range of motion picture work, including documentary, commercial, and narrative.

Previous works have premiered at Thessaloniki International Documentary Film Festival, Overlook Film Festival, and New Orleans Film Festival, among others.

Levi currently resides in New Orleans, LA, where he continues to create alongside its independent filmmaking community.
